The Magswitch Plug-and-Play E30 (PPe30) is an electrically switchable permanent magnet gripper for gripping ferromagnetic components – no bus, no control unit, controlled directly via a standard I/O block.
A short current pulse is sufficient to switch the magnetic force on or off – it is then held purely magnetically, without continuous current flow. This makes the PPe30 energy-efficient and inherently safe: in the event of a power failure or emergency stop, the magnet does not let go. In addition, the entire compressed air supply, including valves and hoses, which pneumatic magnet grippers require, is eliminated – fewer components, fewer sources of error, and faster commissioning.
Practical in everyday use: the integrated part-present sensing via a dedicated output – the PPe30 reliably reports whether a component is gripped, from 0.3 mm material thickness. Status outputs for "magnet on" and "magnet off" as well as an LED color code on the tool make the state visible at all times. With three mounting patterns on the top and side, the gripper can be connected flexibly; interchangeable pole shoes adapt it to different, including uneven, target surfaces. Customer-specific pole shoe geometries are available upon request.

Notes
The forces stated are ideal values, determined on a 200 x 200 mm SAE1018 steel sheet (surface roughness 63 µin) with standard pole shoes without an air gap – not a safe working load. Air gaps, contamination, material thickness, alloy, and component shape reduce the holding force.
There are two versions (-A2 and -A4) which differ in the pin assignment for the switch-on command. Please specify when ordering.
